Then we’ll check the fit and movement. The lens must move when you blink or move your eye, or oxygen won’t be getting under the lens to keep the eye happy.

Convenience

Vision might not be as good as with spectacles. With contact lenses, the prescription’s not as exact. It’s more obvious if you have astigmatism. However, if you play sport or just would rather be eaten alive by a dinosaur than wear glasses, you’ll appreciate the convenience of lenses.

You should keep a spare pair of glasses, though. Wearing lenses does deprive the eye of some oxygen and infections can occur if you’re a bit sloppy with your cleaning. So, give your eyes a rest from time to time. Listen to your optician and have more regular check-ups. Oh, and don’t wear them while swimming or apart from if you are wearing special extended wear lenses whilst you are catching zzzzzs.
